Pay at a Designated Bank

You may go to any branch of the bank designated by your management office and present a rent payment stub to make your rent payment. Below is an example of the rent payment stub you will receive with your monthly rent statement.

Automated Clearing House

Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments are withdrawn directly from your bank account on the seventh business day of each month. To sign up for ACH rent payments, you need to complete the ACH Authorization Form and submit it to your management office.

Promoting Self-Sufficiency

The Section 3 Program

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Section 3 Program requires recipients of certain HUD financial assistance to provide training, employment, contracting, and economic opportunities to low- and very low-income families. If you participate in the HPHA's federal housing assistance programs, you may qualify as a Section 3 worker.

Family Self-Sufficiency Program

The HPHA's Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program enables eligible families receiving federal housing assistance to achieve economic independence and reduce dependence on welfare assistance and rental subsidies. Under the FSS Program, the HPHA and an adult family member will execute a Contract of Participation, generally for a five year period. Participating families are provided with an interest-bearing escrow account made up of the difference of the rent the family pays when entering the program and the increased rent that would be charged as earned income increases. Once the contract is completed and the family has met all other individual goals, a family may claim the escrow account.
